We believe that together in Jesus Christ we are freed by grace to live faithfully, witness boldly and serve joyfully.
We know life doesn’t come with instructions. We know you want to get it right. Life is complicated. We want to help you discover a practical faith that leads to greater meaning and direction in life.
We’ve been navigating the complexities of relationships, parenting, finances, and faith for over a century in the Heights.

A graduate of Gustavus Adolphus College and Luther Seminary, my first call as pastor was to Salem Lutheran Church in Mahtowa, MN. After seven years, we moved to Nashville, TN. While my wife, Abby, was completing her pediatric dental residency, I served as a chaplain at St. Thomas West Hospital, specializing in palliative care.
In Duluth, Abby and I own and operate Eversmiles Pediatric Dentistry. I’m quite proud of the way Abby and her partners provide specialized dental care for children, from infants through adolescents in the Arrowhead Region. Check them out. They we strive to partner with you so you have the tools at home to help your children have healthy smiles, now and into the future.
I currently serve on the board of "Welcome Them Home Help Them Heal," an organization built to equip the growing number of pastors, parish nurses, counselors, and caregivers in churches across the country to support and advocate for veterans and their loved ones. We're proud to provide physical, mental, and spiritual care for veterans that sparks a spirit of willingness and hope.
When I'm not at church, I enjoy spending time with Abby, our two daughters, Sylvie and Esme. We especially love to read together, swim, nordic ski, mountain bike, sing around the piano, and travel as much as possible.
